Clarity first
We name the problem accurately before trying to solve it — most stuckness is a definition problem.
Services · 02
One-to-one time to work out what is actually going on — and what you want to do about it.
Per 50-minute session, plus GST. Full fees are on the packages and pricing page. Sessions run online by secure video across Australia and New Zealand, by telephone, or in person in Melbourne by arrangement.
Individual counselling is the usual starting point. In the first session we map what brought you here, what you have already tried, and what a better week would look like. From there we agree two or three goals and work towards them at a pace you set.
Sessions are conversational rather than clinical. Expect to be asked good questions, to leave with something practical to try, and to be told honestly when a pattern is worth looking at more closely.
We name the problem accurately before trying to solve it — most stuckness is a definition problem.
Emotion regulation, boundaries, assertive communication and thinking tools you can use without a counsellor in the room.
Small, specific experiments between sessions, reviewed honestly the following week.
01
The first session maps what brought you here, what you have already tried, and what has and has not helped.
02
By the second or third session I offer a clear account of what I think is happening and why the pattern holds. You are free to disagree — that conversation is useful in itself.
03
Skills, experiments and honest reflection, aimed at the two or three goals we agreed rather than at everything at once.
04
We check progress against those goals roughly every fourth session, and plan an ending rather than drifting into one.
“I came in able to describe the symptoms and left able to describe the cause. That changed what I could do about it.”

Most people notice a shift within three to six sessions. Some finish there; others continue fortnightly or monthly for deeper pattern work. You are never locked in.
That is a common and perfectly good starting point. Working out what you actually want is the first piece of work, and it is often the piece that unlocks everything else.
Usually something small and specific — a conversation to have, a pattern to notice, a technique to practise. It is optional, and we review honestly what happened either way.
