Relationships & Communication
Most relationship trouble is not a shortage of love. It is a pattern that neither person chose and both know by heart.
Couples arrive with the same argument in different words, or with a silence that has become polite. Individuals arrive with reactions that are bigger than the situation deserves. Both are pattern problems, and patterns can be mapped and changed.
Work here is balanced by design: nobody is put on trial, and nobody carries the relationship alone. Couples sessions run 50 minutes, and individual sessions can run alongside them where that helps.
You might recognise
- The same argument repeating with different words
- Reactions that are bigger than the moment deserves
- Trust damaged and both of you wanting repair
- Parenting, money or intimacy becoming no-go areas
- A court, employer or partner asking you to address anger
How this work goes
Map the cycle
Who pursues, who withdraws, what each of you protects — so it stops being about who is at fault.
The pause
Ninety-second de-escalation, rehearsed until it is available under pressure rather than only understood.
Repair skills
How to raise something hard, how to hear it, and how to come back after a rupture.

Common questions on this topic
My partner will not come. Is there any point coming alone?+
Yes. Relationships are systems, and a considered change in one person reliably shifts the dynamic. Partners often join later, once it no longer feels like a summons.
Will you take sides?+
No. I will be direct with both of you about behaviour that is damaging the relationship, which can feel like taking sides in the moment but lands evenly across the work.
What if one of us has already decided to leave?+
That is workable material. Counselling can help you decide honestly rather than by attrition, and can make a separation less damaging — particularly with children involved.
